If you are looking for an exciting project in collaboration with the industry where you can use and enhance your skills in analytical chemistry and statistics, we have an opportunity for you at Novo Nordisk, Kalundborg within the production of Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient and Quality Control. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with experienced chemists and laboratory technicians across our QC laboratories.
We wish to prolong the column lifetime for our HPLC systems by optimizing the analysis parameters and storing conditions thereby enhancing the analytical performance and overall operational time.
The assignment will involve a significant amount of data crunching and practise of applied statistics such as calculations of mean values, standard deviations and ANOVA investigations, but is not necessarily limited to that.
Perspectivations on how analytical performance of HPLC analysis can be amplified even further will be a natural part of the project and relevant sparring partners will also be available for academic and practical discussions.
About the department
Product Supply is an organization with more than 10,000 employees located in Denmark, China, Brazil, France and USA. Product Supply is responsible for all production in Novo Nordisk and delivery of products to our sales affiliates or directly to major customers. Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient is mainly located at site Kalundborg where the API production of insulins and GLP-1 analogues are taking place.
A scientific background within natural sciences and preferably experience with analytical chemistry with focus on HPLC techniques combined with statistical knowledge or the desire to explore more within in this field. The specific area of study could for instance be within chemistry, biology or engineering, but is not limited to that. The most important thing is to possess a curios mindset and eager to look for optimization potentials combined with above disciplines.
Practical information about the internship:
- January/February 2020
- Working hours: Flexible (20 hours a week)
- Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
- A Danish full-time work permit is required
- The job ad will be closed, when the post has been filled, no later than 31th December 2019
